Walk the Words
It means doing what you say. Not hanging your values on a wall and hoping someone reads them, but living them on the hard days, in the rooms where it counts.
In healthcare, everyone has a mission statement. Most of us have also worked somewhere the words on the wall didn't match what happened on the floor.
The people who notice that gap first are the ones doing the work. The nurse at the bedside, the aide who stays late, the manager holding a team together with good intentions and a lot of coffee. They know what it means to walk the words, because they're the ones who have to.
What we're here to do
Walk the Words Press publishes true stories from the people inside healthcare. Nurses, caregivers, clinicians, and leaders who have something to say about what this work really asks of people, and what it gives back.
We're a small, independent press, and we would rather publish a few honest books than a lot of polished ones.
What we believe
Not consultants, not headlines. The ones who were in the room.
The stories that help most are the ones where the writer wasn't always the hero.
Patients, families, and colleagues are protected in every book we publish.
It's always free to submit your work to us.
Walk the Words Press was founded in 2026 by Katherine Quine, BSN, RN, a hospice nurse in Connecticut.
